Moving

I hate moving. Love the house, but this has been an exhausting move. We've been moving boxes and junk every single night since we closed on the 19th (except last Friday when I actually got the night off). So the schedule is, work all day, meet at the condo, pack and move (multiple loads), then somewhere around 10pm-ish, make it to the house. Wash, rinse, repeat. Over, and over, and over, until the condo's dumpster starts looking very attractive rather than putting yet another box in the Aztek.

I think we're getting towards the end. Almost down to just the "big stuff" at which maybe we'll finally hire someone to move that part. Next time? Someone's packing and moving it all, baby, and it ain't gonna be me.

I did get to finally enjoy the pool briefly on Saturday and Sunday for a few minutes. Hopefully I'll get to do that every day once I don't have to go to the blasted condo after work every single night.

Pool

Here are some pics of the pool that I snapped last night:

Here's a closer shot of the tilework where the waterfall comes out:

I'll get some this weekend with the waterfall going -- it adds a relaxing sound to the house when you're inside, all you hear is the waterfall, it's great :)

Now all that's left is to load up the Aztek after work every night and take a full carload of boxes over there. I think we'll get the bulk of it done this weekend (I hope). First official night in the house will probably be this Friday night. I'm looking forward to the plantation shutters, which mean the sun won't be burning a hole in my eye sockets when it comes up over the foothills like it does every morning in the condo, heh heh.

It's Official!

We're now the owners of a gorgeous 3 bedroom house in Arizona! I snapped a few quick shots yesterday, but they don't really mean much until I can get the whole enchilada with some better photos this weekend as we move in.

But here's the entertainment center area (I know it's crooked, I was hurrying hehe):

Here's the new carpeting in the bedroom -- check out the awesome plantation shutters and the extra cool energy saving screens :)

I'll get a few shots of the front and the swimming pool in the back sometime this weekend when we get moved out there. We're moving in the Arizona heat, but at least I have a swimming pool to leap into between Aztek-loads! :)

New MMO?

Chuck sent me this earlier this week. Very very amusing. :)

Tile went in yesterday, grout and sealant goes in today, and the carpet goes in on Monday. Tuesday morning we will be signing the papers on a GORGEOUS house -- we're really excited to be moving somewhere with space (and a swimming pool).

Sometime in July we'll be having our "Barely Out of Boxes BBQ" for friends and family. Should be fun, and give me impetus to actually unpack this time. I stopped unpacking at our condo because there was only so much room to put things. Past that point, it was like, "So, I guess I'll just leave this stuff in boxes..."

I was on the 101 parking lot after lunch today (they call it a freeway, but it is more of a parking lot). It was 115 degrees on the blacktop. Steering wheels are HOT at that temperature! I got to work and it dropped to a downright balmy 110 degrees. Pretty soon it's "jump in the pool after work" time, I can't wait!

Update

I need to post Ren Faire and Aloha Festival photos this weekend. New stuff to report - we're looking at buying a house in the next month or so. It's a gorgeous 3 bdrm, has a great pool, nice plantation shutters all the way around, and all appliances. It even comes with all the lightbulbs (inside joke).

I'll post a few pics of the new house too.

Otherwise, it's a typical Arizona springtime, festivals and events every single weekend up until it gets hot. This weekend we actually don't have anything planned for a change, so we might go do the Peralta Trail up to Weaver's Needle again. LONG hike (at least the zigzaggy way we did it the last time) but great view of Weaver's Needle.
